Christmas Services at Christ Church

Christmas Services at Christ church

This year for Christmas, even while we’re still apart, we invite you to join us for one of two beautiful online services we are planning at Christ Church to celebrate Christmas. Both services will be held on Thursday, December 24th (Christmas Eve) and will be accessible on Zoom. The later Christmas Eve service will also be accessible via Facebook Livestream. Both services will include music, a sermon, and Holy Communion. You are most welcome to join us to celebrate the birth of Christ!
At 3:00 PM on December 24th we will hold our annual Christmas Eve Family Worship Service with this year’s Children’s Christmas Pageant serving as the Liturgy of the Word. This will be a Zoom “call” with everyone who has their computer camera turned on visible during the service. The Christ Church families are looking forward to showing off their acting skills portraying the animals around the manger!
At 7:00 PM on December 24th we will hold our Christmas Eve Mass with music (including the Christ Church Choir) and a series of Christmas carols for you to enjoy prior to the beginning of the service. This will be a Zoom “webinar” where those in attendance are not visible on screen, but can pass the Peace and offer prayers through a chat window. In keeping with Christ Church tradition, we will also light candles together as we sing Silent Night. Be sure to join us!
On Christmas Day, we will invite everyone from Christ Church to attend the beautiful online service at Grace Cathedral as we gather as a diocese and welcome the birth of our Saviour. The service will be held online at 11:00 am. At that time, you can click HERE to watch the service and download a service leaflet. This Christmas morning service will include festive music, hymns and readings. The Very Rev. Dr. Malcolm Clemens Young, Dean of Grace Cathedral, will preach. Together we will celebrate the birth of the Holy Child. A virtual coffee hour will follow.
