Our Faith

Our Faith

As Episcopalians, we believe in the divine goodness of God’s love for us. The foundation of our faith is based on our belief in the Holy Trinity — one God manifested as three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.) Episcopalians come from all walks of life, and everyone is welcomed with love and kindness into Christ Church, just as God loves us all.

In contrast to some churches, we believe that God’s grace and reconciling love is greater than our sins and that God will maintain a way for us to keep our relationship with Him. We do not believe in a wrathful, vengeful God; rather, we believe the strength of His love overwhelms our humanity.

We read the Bible aloud in church every Sunday. If you come for three years straight, you will have heard almost the entire Bible. We take the Bible seriously but tend to see scripture as something that is inspired by God rather than a literal word-for-word message from God. We like to explore and are open to new interpretations and inspirations. We believe the Bible teaches us about who God is, who we are, and how God wants us to live.
