In the Netherlands there is a saying, “Shared joy is double the joy and shared grief is half the grief.” We have all come to recognize our experience sheltering in place has come with grief and loss, so we invite you to come together in community to share and process our experiences to find encouragement and hope for our continued journey through this time.
Kathryn Lee will be leading small groups in a time of dialogue using a the restorative circle model she has used in other spiritual formation offerings. The International Institute of Restorative Practices describes a circle as a versatile restorative practice that can be used proactively, to develop relationships and build community or reactively, to respond to wrongdoing, conflicts and problems. Circles give people an opportunity to speak and listen to one another in an atmosphere of safety, decorum and equality.
The aim in offering this opportunity is for small groups to process their experience of the last month plus to help us look at what we have gained and lost, so we can look forward to the time when we come out of shelter in place and what we may need to do to prepare for that.
These will be virtual Zoom groups of 6 participants for 3 sessions. There will be a Tuesday evening track from 6:30 – 8 pm on May 12, 19, and 26, and a Thursday afternoon track from 3:30 – 5 pm on May 14, 21, and 28.
Registration for this circle is now closed.
