Raising Our Children Together
At Christ Church, we are working to build a family-friendly environment that will support parents and provide enriching spiritual formation for children.
On Sunday mornings at 9:30 in the Campbell Hall “Garden Room”, we offer a unique, 30-minute service designed specifically for children from newborns to age 5. All family members are invited to join us and stand with their children for Holy Communion, but the bulk of this service has been created specifically with children in mind. Quiet, contemplative prayer and kid-friendly music is used. Children are given a chance to learn what it means to take things a little slower, to ask meaningful questions, and to talk about the blessings in our life for which we should be thankful. We also introduce many of the basic themes of the Christian faith and begin to teach our children about the liturgical year and how it is observed in the Episcopal Church.
In the fall of 2016 we will be introducing the next phase of our children’s program at Christ Church with the introduction of a children’s Christian Education program for children ages 6-10. Stay tuned for more information this summer.
But whether you join us for the family service at 9:30 or you decide to bring your children with you to the service at 8:00 am or 10:30 am, your whole family will be welcomed at Christ Church. We look forward to seeing you on any Sunday.
